One More Thing

The “One More Thing” announced by Steve Jobs today was in fact a video iPod. Looks like I was wrong when I said it couldn’t possibly be that then!

To coincide with this, iTunes 6 has been released (as predicted by others). Why, it only seems like a month since we had iTunes 5!

If you enjoyed reading this and would like other people to read it as well, please add it to del.icio.us, digg or furl.

If you really enjoyed what you just read, why not buy yourself something from Amazon? You get something nice for yourself, and I get a little bit of commission to pay for servers and the like. Everyone's a winner!

Ever noticed that lately Google and Apple do things like denying that they’ll never do something cool that’s being rumoured about. Then they go and do it.

They do it every single time, don’t they? :/

Ah well - I’d assumed that there wouldn’t be a video iPod because it’s too difficult for the “average joe” to rip their own dvds atm and because I didn’t think that two different iPods would be released within a month of each other. Shows how wrong I am!

I guess it’d be easy enough for someone (like Apple) to write software to reencode your DVD for the iPod. But then, that would probably get stomped upon by the MPAA via the DCMA. sigh

Aye - I’d imagine that if they did write some re-encoding software it would be DRMed so that you could only play it on your own computer and your iPod. Which, to be honest, I’d have less of a problem with than the DRMing of music.
