It’s the end of the line here at Working With Me, and the start of a brand new journey over at The Code Train.
For various reasons I’ve decided to start afresh with a new blog that I’m actually going to be writing content on this time, I promise. So, pop over to The Code Train, update your feed readers, leave me some comments and make me feel loved :)
Neil Crosby is engaged
To the very lovely Rebecca Courtley. More details to follow once we get back from our holiday……
It’s been a while…
So, it’s been a little while since I last blogged - bet you’re wondering what I’ve been up to, aren’t you? Me too…
d.construct deconstructed
(Sorry about the title, it had to be done.) So, last Friday I went to the second annual d.construct conference down in Brighton. The main thrust of the day was that APIs are good, you should definitely be using them…
I’ve got a brand going on here…
Yesterday was the first ever Web Standards Group meeting in London, wonderfully organised by Stuart Colville and with talks by Andy Budd and Christian Heilmann. Why did I go? Because I’m really trying to get out there and get to…
What does my bookshelf say about me?
A couple of months ago, Stuart Colville tagged anyone in sight to do the “What does your bookshelf say about you” meme. Well, better late than never, this is my contribution.
Movie Madness Weekend
This last weekend has been the most movie-tastic I’ve had for a very long time. The plan was to get some friends together, buy a load of junk food, and then pretty much vegetate for the weekend. And more or less, that’s what happened.
I’m going to @media 2006!
Since the initial lineup was announced a few month’s ago I’ve been wanting to go to @media 2006, but unfortunately money was such that it was an unrealistic dream for me. Until today, that is. After talking to my manager…
Mac Mini To Do List
Just a list of the things I need to do to get my Mac Mini up to speed and doing everything I need.
I bought a Mac Mini
After my post about buying a Mac Mini on sunday I decided to run out to Apple’s Rgent Street store just before they closed at 6pm and buy one. What I got in the end was a 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo Mac Mini with 1Gb of RAM and a 100Gb hard drive, for £699.
Should I buy a Mac Mini?
It looks like Daisy (my main Windows PC) is on her way out. I’ve recently had intermittent problems with her recognising all her memory (both sticks are fine though) and now she’s starting to reboot on me randomly. Wouldn’t you…
Buy my DVDs
Both money and space is tight at the moment, so Becca and I thought that it would be a good idea to try and sell some of our DVDs that we just never ever watch. I’ll be sad to see…
The anniversary meal
As I mentioned a couple of entries ago, I’ve been going out with Becca for just over a year now, with our anniversary being last thursday. It’s the first time that I’ve ever got to this stage in a…
Link Dumps and Anniversaries
Forgive me for link dumping instead of writing a proper entry yet again, but today is my one year anniversary with my girlfriend. So, really, there’s more important things to think about than writing a full entry :) Did…
I’m Internet Famous
Wow - that was impressive. On Friday I ordered the “I’m Internet Famous” and “XHTML Fist” t-shirts from Comet 7 and A List Apart respectively. Today (tuesday!) the “I’m Internet Famous” one arrived! And very nice it is too…
Confessions of a Bath Product
This evening, at 8:11pm, terrorists attacked my bath. It was my birthday on friday, and as one of my presents I got an orange Lush bath bomb. Now, being a sensible boy, I’d never actually bought anything from Lush…
Travelling isn’t Fun
[This entry was written last night on the train, and I should warn everyone reading that moaning follows…] Last night I got two and a half hours sleep. I got up at 5am this morning so that I could…
A-level Results
So, yesterday was A-level results day here in the UK, and once again lots of people did incredibly well, with more than 22% getting an A grade. The elder of my two younger brothers, Kevin, was one of many…
The Graduate
I’ve finally got the first of my 101 in 1001 tasks completed! Last friday, I graduated with a First Class honours degree in Software Engineering from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. It was a long hard day, starting at…
Long time no entry
I know, it’s been a long time since I made an entry here. There have been a lot of ups and downs in my life recently which have caused me to ignore this site. Here are a few of them……
101 Goals in 1001 Days
The Mission: Complete 101 preset tasks within a period of 1001 days.
101 in 1001 Introduction
A while back, I saw on someone’s website that they were following a meme called “101 in 1001”. The idea was that they created a list of 101 tasks which they would complete within a period of 1001 days….
Normal service shall now resume…
As of one hour ago, I am now free of my dissertation (well, except for the demonstration). A huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders, and I can now get back to implementing some of the ideas that…
A brief update
Well, my dissertation is continuing as planned. With only two weeks now until it has to be handed in (and more like one and a half weeks until it has to be finished and ready to be bound), things…
The State of Me
I should really say a couple of words about what’s happening with me at the moment, I think. For the next 18 days I’m going to be well and truly thrown into finishing off my dissertation, so there’ll be…
Those little pictures…
I’ve been asked a few times recently about the little pictures that I tend to have floating around in the top right hand corner of these entries. What are they doing there? Exactly what do that have to do…
Getting Things Done?
Well, I know that this is a bit of an ironic entry given that I should be revising for my exams at the moment, but today I’m going to write about how I organise things so that I can…
A Year of Stuff - The Bad Stuff
Following on from A Year of Stuff - The Good Stuff, this entry basically tells you who and what I wish I’d avoided this year. Here goes… First up to the chopping block is Ghoulnet, the hosts of workingwith.me.uk….
iBook, and forthcoming updates
My new iBook arrived on saturday (finally - couriers are not good people), and it’s lovely. I have, however, found a couple of small issues under Safari. Nothing major, just indenting of the first line of some paragraphs, and…
Touching Base
Well, I’m back at university now, and things are (once again) hectic. I’ve been rushing around this last week getting moved in, registered and getting my Industrial Year report handed in, as well as starting to deal with finding myself…
